Say Grace Farms - A family that prays together...

It was early Saturday morning, the 4th of June. My 3 children were preparing for a roadtrip to Washington State for the summer to be with family. Just like any emotional mother, I was teary-eyed as I helped pack the last items into their car. The last item to load was a basket filled with some snacks for the long 3 day haul.

My husband and I had a lot of work scheduled for the venue to begin this summer. Unfortunately, my kids would not be here to see the progression. My sister-in-law, who I adore, had a wonderful idea. My husband, Marc, went into the garage to grab 5 wooden stakes, while I rummaged through a cluttered junk drawer for a sharpie that wasn't dried up. The night before, I let them know they each had a task to find a scripture that was meaningful to them. They each took the sharpie and wrote bible verse on their wooden stake. So, before the three of them headed out, we decided to take a quick drive to the property to have a special moment with them and the Lord.

As we arrived to the property, we each found a place to rest our bible verse. We each read off our scripture aloud and drove the stake into the ground to stay.

Marc - John 3:16

16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Melody - Deuteronomy 28:1-13

1 "Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.

2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:

3 Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.

4 Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.

5 Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.

6 Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

7 "The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

8 The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

9 The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways.

10 Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.

11 And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you.

12 The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them."

Sonny - Psalm 23

1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Rayna - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails.

Tristin - Deuteronomy 26:1

1 And it shall be, when you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you possess it and dwell in it.

As a family, we are so thankful to the Lord for His goodness and the vision and desire placed in our hearts to be a blessing to others.

After we laugh, cried, and hugged, we returned home to say our last summer of 2022 goodbye. I held them each tight and told them how much I love them. They climbed into a tightly packed car and drove away as I waved and blew kisses to them until I could not see them anymore.

They arrived to their destination safely and I am already waiting for them to return in August! I miss them already.
